Instagram’s Test of Removing Like Counts is Being Expanded to More Regions
In hopes to make the platform more enjoyable for all users, Instagram is testing out the idea of removing the like count to posts. The test is already being expanded to six more regions. So far, the regions include: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan, and New Zealand.
According to Instagram chief Adam Mosseri – “We don’t want Instagram to be such a competition. We want it to be a place where people spend more of their energy connecting with the people that they love and the things that they care about.” Individual users can still see their total likes, they just won’t be shared publicly. This also goes for video views.
Pinterest is Adding a Self-Help Tool in Their Platform to Address Mental Stress & Fatigue
Pinterest is all too aware of how much time people are spending on their smartphones scrolling through their platform and others alike. Pinterest says that its users conduct “millions of searches” related to emotional health on the platform every year, which is what prompted this new initiative.
By giving people easy access to information and programs about dealing with social media fatigue or even work stress.
