Here are five tips to help keep you on the right path and achieve your goals as we conclude 2020:

Embrace the journey that has been thrusted upon us. It’s important to embrace experiences along the way as 2020 comes to an end. Enjoy normal fall activities outside, albeit bundled up a little more. You don’t always have to be completely focused on your end goals. It’s okay to do things a bit differently and still enjoy the traditions of the holidays even if it’s virtually.

Know what you’re willing to sacrifice. We all have to sacrifice, and sometimes that affects your goals.

Take struggle in stride. You’ll hit rough patches so know what to do to get through them. You could reach out a mentor to see how they may have dealt with similar circumstances. Other ways to help is going to the gym, hiking or pursuing a creative oppurtunity.

Give back. Look for ways to pay it forward while striving to achieve your career goals. Gratitude reciprocates gratitude. Volunteering can really help your achieve your future goals. Here is a list of potential places online where you can see volunteering opportunities.: www.volunteermatch.com, www.idealist.com, www.allforgood.org.

Set measurable SMART goals. A random example of a smart-goal for a business is, “increase the entire marketing teams contribution to revenue by four percent in Q1 of 2021.”  The time frame should be between a certain number of week/months and trackable. If you’d like to learn more about writing measurable smart goals listen to our podcast from earlier this week.
