The New Year is the most popular time that everyone reflects on their progress and sets new goals for themselves for the coming year. By mid-February, many of these resolutions are often forgotten or given up on. To maintain your goals, it is important to ensure they are well-written and SMART.

What are SMART Goals?

Businesses love to use the acronym SMART as a framework for making meaningful goals. SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound.

A: Achievable

Set goals that are attainable for you. When you have goals that are possible to achieve, you are more likely to reach them, versus goals that are too ambitious that you will give up on.

R: Relevant

Make sure your New Year’s resolutions are reasonable and realistic

T: Time-bound 

Give yourself a timeline for when you want to have reached your resolutions. This deadline will help you stay organized.
