Email Issues Resolved

April 23, 2014

Mule Hosting

Towards the end of the day on April 21, and for most of the day on April 22, the email system on our hosting servers was experiencing some outages. Fortunately the issue didn’t cause any emails to be lost, only a delay in receiving them. If you received a number of emails at the same time on the evening of April 22 this is why.

We pride ourselves in offering reliable hosting with as close to perfect uptime as possible, so when we do experience an issue we take it very seriously. This issue was caused by our anti spam system crashing, which caused all incoming and outgoing emails to get caught in the queue. When we discovered that this was the cause we restarted the anti spam service and all emails were immediately pushed through the queue. This anti spam service is a crucial part of our service as it keeps unwanted and potentially harmful emails out of your inbox.

To all of our hosting customers, we sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this caused, and assure you that we put in fail-safes to ensure that this doesn’t happen again. If you have any questions about this outage or are having issues with your email please visit our Support section and submit a ticket.

Lastly, I want to take this opportunity to remind you that if you are experiencing issues with your hosting service to please check our system status via the Support section, our Facebook page or our Twitter page. When a major outage like this occurs it’s all hands on deck, so we may not be able to return your phone calls or emails as quickly as we normally do. As soon as we even suspect we have an issue we update the pages listed above so you can stay informed. We also post updates as we learn more about what the issue is so you can know when it’s expected to be resolved.

Again, I apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused, and appreciate your understanding.

Sincerely,

James Shiner
President / CEO
