Over the last couple of years, podcasts have become more and more mainstream. According to Podcasts Insights, as of this year, there are currently over 1,750,000 podcasts in the world and 75% of the population in the United States are familiar with the term podcasting. To better understand this rise in popularity, we sat down with part of our team to find out what they are listening to. Here are Yelling Mule’s top four podcasts you should check out! 

 

My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark 

If you are a fan of true crime look no further then My Favorite Murder. Best friends Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark once bonded at a party sharing murder stories and decided to create a podcast centered around it. Every week, Karen and Georgia each share different murders and turn to their fans to learn about crime stories that took place in different hometowns. 

 

Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard 

Dax Shepard is in the business of discovering human “truths”. His podcast, Armchair Expert, is centered around honesty and personal growth. His weekly podcast guests range from actors to politicians and to athletes. A natural interviewer, Dax Shepard not only highlights the guests’ professional accomplishments but their personal accomplishments too. 

 

StartUp by Gimlet 

Curious about what it takes to start a business? StartUp is an informational podcast put on by Gimlet Media. Hosts Alex Blumberg and Lisa Chow follow a variety of stories related to businesses who are just starting out. 

 

Thoroughly Unqualified 

Our Creative Director Nicki is not only an avid podcast listener but a podcaster herself. In 2020, Nicki and her two brothers developed Thoroughly Unqualified. Three adult siblings dole out dating and life advice, and give their thoughts on relationship struggles despite all three of them being extremely single.
