Instagram’s Creative Lab

Instagram has developed a new initiative to help users maximize their efforts on the platform. The Creative Lab offers a number of tutorials covering channel growth, monetization, safety tips and more. Various Instagram stars cover these sections by creating notes and videos accessible to other users. To increase use, Instagram wants to highlight its monetization. That will ultimately lead to more users on the platform.

Pinterest Enters A New Partnership

Pinterest has just announced a new partnership. To better help their merchants sell products, Pinterest is now incorporating WooCommerce to its platform. Now product catalogs can be turned into Shoppable Pins. According to Pinterest

“Our partnership with WooCommerce is part of our broader commitment to becoming the most inspiring shopping destination online. At Pinterest, we’re building a home for taste-driven shopping, and investing in new ways for shoppers to browse, discover and engage with brands. With the number of Pinners engaging with shopping surfaces growing over 20% both quarter over quarter and year over year in Q4 ‘21, this partnership gives Pinners more options to discover and purchase with confidence.”

This partnership just adds value to Pinterest’s overall user experience. With these new Shoppable Pins, users can easily sell AND buy from the platform. Plus, WooCommerce merchants will even be given access to Pinterest API v5, which allows one to build custom Pins that go beyond the app.

TikTok’s New Storage Plan

TikTok is revisiting their internal storage plan. After a lot of push back, the popular social media platform is looking to ensure that data gathered from US users will not be accessible by China-based organizations. American computer technology corporation called Oracle is one of the top companies involved in these discussions. Oracle was close to buying TikTok last year but it was never made official. Due to recent world events it’s likely to expect another push in this direction.
